On this 3-day trip to Tarangire and Ngorongoro crater, you will have an opportunity to see what the parks has to offer. Starting from the giant baobab trees to the huge number of largest African Elephants inside Tarangire, as well as Ngorongoro crater, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best place to witness the endangered black rhino.

Itinerary of 3-Day Midrange Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Transfer to Karatu

Recommended arrival time: before 16:00 hrs.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide, who will provide a short safari briefing.

After the briefing, you will begin your journey to Karatu, a charming town located near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, passing through beautiful countryside landscapes and local villages.

You will arrive at your lodge in time for dinner and an overnight stay at Pamoja Villa Farm, where you can relax and prepare for the exciting adventure awaiting you the following day in the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 2: Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu

Distance: Approximately 50 km

Driving time: About 1 hour

After an early and delicious breakfast at your lodge in Karatu, you will depart and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder and one of the best places in East Africa to observe the Big Five. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is among the most remarkable wildlife destinations in the world and also offers unique opportunities to encounter the culture of the Maasai people.

Upon reaching the crater rim, the 20 km-wide caldera opens up before you in spectacular fashion. You will then descend along an adventurous trail to begin your game drive on the crater floor. The crater is home to over 25,000 animals, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, a rich diversity of birdlife, and the endangered black rhinoceros.

A packed lunch will be served at a scenic picnic site near the hippo pool, after which you will continue exploring this extraordinary ecosystem.

In the late afternoon, you will ascend from the crater and drive back to the Karatu area for dinner and an overnight stay at Farm of Dreams Lodge.

Day 3: Karatu – Tarangire National Park – Arusha

After an early breakfast at your lodge in Karatu, you will depart for your final game drive in Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and majestic baobab trees.

You will enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives, offering excellent opportunities to spot a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, lions, and numerous species of antelope. Tarangire is especially known for its impressive concentration of wildlife during the dry season.

A packed picnic lunch will be served inside the park, allowing you to enjoy your meal surrounded by the beauty of the African wilderness.

In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Arusha Airport to catch your flight to Zanzibar or to your next destination, where your safari concludes and our services come to an end.
