THE CLIMATE OF TANZANIA

Tanzania is characterized by having a tropical and semi-arid climate with two seasons: Dry and Wet.

It is always recommended, regardless of the date you travel, to bring warm clothing for night temperature drops.

The landscape of the National Parks is changeable depending on the season you travel; thus, during the dry season the landscape is semi-arid and the sun blends with the savannah.

The herds are concentrated around the water springs where a high concentration of predators come to look out for them and during the wet season the landscape is covered with a green mantle by the rains and you will see the herds graze. If you travel from the end of January to the end of March you will see the Calving Season in the southern plains of the Serengeti in an area called Ndutu.

Tanzania will captivate you with its beauty, regardless of the season you travel.

The dry season covers the months of June to October.

During this time the weather is hot and sunny during the day, and at night the temperature is colder.

The wet season covers the months of November to May.

Short rains occur in November and December and long rains in March, April and May, with high humidity and rainfall almost all day.
